What Happened?
Applications Submitted
Skilled trade workers applied through OINP with a stated processing time of 150 days. They planned their lives around this timeline, trusting the system.
Years of Waiting
Instead of 150 days, applicants waited over 2 years with no updates. During this time, many lost their legal status as work permits expired while waiting for a decision.
Applications Returned
After 2+ years, files were returned without explanation. Now, having graduated 3+ years ago, they can't apply through other PNP streams which require application within 2 years of graduation. We demand procedural fairness and work permit extensions while the ministry reviews our files.
Make Your Voice Heard
Premier Ford has asked the federal government to extend work permits—now we need MPs to act. Enter your postal code and send an email urging your MP to support work permit extensions before the December holidays.
